New Apprenticeship Funding Opportunities for Small Businesses

Published on 18 March 2024

This week the Prime Minister is set to unveil a comprehensive package of reforms aimed at bolstering small businesses. At the heart of this initiative lies a £60 million injection to create up to 20,000 additional apprenticeships, particularly targeting small enterprises.

The government's commitment to fully fund apprenticeships for small businesses from April 1st signifies a significant stride towards easing financial burdens and expanding opportunities for budding professionals.

By covering the entire training costs for individuals up to the age of 21, businesses can now focus on nurturing talent without fretting over expenses. This move is complemented by an increase in the amount of funding that levy-paying employers can transfer to other businesses, soaring to 50% from April onwards.

This not only slashes costs for large corporations but also unlocks avenues for smaller firms to recruit skilled workers.

With the tide of opportunity on the horizon, the government's pledge to back small businesses heralds a new era of prosperity and progress for the region and beyond.
