What is WorkWell?
WorkWell is a free and dedicated service that can help people struggling to find or keep a job due to physical and/or mental health challenges.
We can support people who:
- have a health challenge that is preventing them from working, or
- are at risk of being out of work due to a health challenge.
We have a team of trained work and health coaches who can work with people to understand their needs and support them with developing a personalised support plan. This may include connecting them to a range of local services and support, for example:
- Financial advice and debt management
- Employment advice and support
- Health and wellbeing services
- Housing advice
- Training and skill development
- Relationships and domestic abuse
- Home adaptations
- Carer support
- Substance misuse
WorkWell provides light-touch, holistic support for people experiencing health-related barriers to employment and is intended to complement and not replace existing Human Resources, Occupational Health or health support offers.
The WorkWell programme is completely voluntary. Interactions with the service will have no impact on benefits and people can withdraw from the programme at any point.
People can self-refer to the programme or with their consent, employers can support individuals with applying. Participants can choose to share action plans with their employer, which could include advice on how they can best be helped to return to and stay in work.
Who is WorkWell for?
People can apply to the service if they are:
- over 16;
- live in or are registered with a GP or Job Centre in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough,
- and are eligible to work in the UK.
